November, 2008 Update: Sadly, we have since learned that Maddox Woodhen did not create this image. Instead, he copied someone else's work. Mr. Woodhen has left Second Life. I will post the link to the original image as soon as I have it.

I am convinced that the future of illustration will increasingly involve virtual worlds. Case in point... Maddox Woodhen created the following portrait of Murasaki Karu - who wanted a Bruce Lee theme - using a photograph taken in Second Life® as a base and then "speed painting" using Photoshop's Burn tool set to "highlights."
