This Saturday, July 4th, after hundreds and hundreds of in-world notices, 700 blogposts (this is the 701st), and thousands of happy hours celebrating great content that would not be possible in Real Life, we will mark the passing of our second year in the metaverse.
If you consider that each human day is the equivalent of 8 days in Second Life® and OpenSim, that would make NPIRL 16 years old. So either we are entering our terrible twos or we are sweet 16.

The prettiest party, evah!
Talk about visually arresting...
The little girl in me did somersaults when I saw siestabril Nitely's pics of the scrumptious birthday party she hosted for her best friend in Real Life, sakufrat2525 Kurka.
siesta shared that these delicious outfits are confections by "wonderful creators" eyeco Noel, and that the festivities unfolded at Agharta, "a beautiful sim," owned by friends of hers (teleport directly from here).
Do you suppose they served pink lemonade?

A birthday present from four Yip
No sooner had I published my blogpost about four Yip's chocolaty room at the Hotel Dare, than she shared a photograph with me of a birthday gift she had created for one very fortunate friend.
As I understand it, when you rez it, feathers appear that carry you and your darling up in the sky to a love nest of your very own.
four made this romantic and dreamy gift exclusively for her friend, and will not be selling it or gifting it.
